Heron Point Gallery
One-of-a-kind works by Maine Aritsts

Bonnie Faulkner

Bonnie creates her glass work in her studio which is nestled along the banks of the Cousin's River in Yarmouth, Maine. Inspirations flow in with each tide: seasonal colors, countless textures, natural sounds and of course the majestic Great Blue Heron.  In addition to her studio work, Bonnie is working on her MFA in glass arts at Heartwood College of Art, and a minor in book arts at the University of Southern Maine, (owns and operates an art gallery in Portland, Maine), teaches courses in glass and clay arts at Bowdoin College and shares a rich and rewarding life with her husband and 3 nieces.

Bonnie's passion for glass started at Yarmouth Middle School.  Painting with ink on glass she'd take tin-foil and crinkle it up as a background, frame it and voila, make-believe stained glass!  Over the years she has extensively studied calligraphic arts, ceramics, fiber arts and , more recently, book arts.  Bonnie has been studying and working in glass for almost 20 years and finds the more she works with glass, the more she is drawn to the light....light from within the piece and the light the piece emits.

Bonnie graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a major in Art Education and minor in Ceramics. When the demand for her work grew she limited her teaching to workshops and private clients throughout Maine , at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Maine Art Education Association and Bowdoin College and Maine Art Glass Studio.
