Cousin's River Studio View
Bonnie Faulkner is a native New Englander calling Yarmouth, Maine her home since 1967.  She has been working in glass for over 20 years.  Highly accomplished in many glass mediums, her work ranges from glass mandala sculptures, full window and wall installations for residential and commercial spaces to finely detailed items such as kitchen tiles and one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings and table top decor.  Faulkner's glass work is very distinctive as she has mastered the ability to incorporate dichroic, fused, and stained glass into one creation.  She finds combining these techniques opens up placement for glass objects in every part of one's home, where even limited lighting accentuates the work.

Creating mandalas is her true passion so combining them with glass was a natural path.  Her Glass Mandala work comes from a life long desire to "paint with glass".  She began drawing mandalas when she was a child and today finds that process an integral part of her creation practice, in fact, she creates one each day.  From sunrise to sunset she is drawn to the natural beauty along the Cousin's River where her studio sits.  Nature is a constant source of inspiration and one that continually excites and energizes her with a sense of wonder and awe.  Faulkner creates her mandalas with a sense of spirituality that can only be found in the natural world.  Currently she is working on a series of glass books which incorporate The Heroine's Journey and mandalas.

Faulkner graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a major in Art Education and a minors in Ceramics and Book Arts. In the fall of 2014 she will graduate from Heartwood College of Art with a Masters in Fine Arts.   She taught art in public schools for many years until the demand for her glass work grew when she became a full time studio artist.  She has taught glass workshops throughout Maine at Haystack Mountain School of Arts & Crafts, Maine Art Glass, Maine Art Education and Bowdoin College as well as private classes.  She is represented by a number of galleries throughout New England and exclusively in New York by Figureworks Gallery.
